Greta Gerwig - Jury of 23* Mar del Plata International Film Festival  

Greta Gerwig
She was born in New York City in 1983. As a play writer, her work has been produced and/or staged in the most prestigious theaters. She co-wrote and starred Joe Swanberg's Hannah Takes the Stairs (2007). She stars in the new Duplass Brothers feature, Baghead, screened at this Festival. She made her debut as co-director and co-screenwriter (along with Swanberg), in the feature Nights and Weekends (2008), also screened at this the festival.

    
Marie-Pierre Macia - Jury of 23* Mar del Plata International Film Festival  

Marie-Pierre Macia
After getting a degree in Classic and French Literature, she joined the Cinémathèque Française team. She worked as programming director for the San Francisco Film Festival for ten years. Between 1999 and 2003, she was the artistic director of the Director's Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival. She is a renowned film festival consultant and programmer. In 2007 she created the Movie Partners in Motion Production Company together with her associate Juliette Lepoutre. Hooked, a first feature by Romanian director, Adrian Sitaru, is their first production.

    
Manuel Martínez Carril - Jury of 23* Mar del Plata International Film Festival  

Manuel Martínez Carril
He was born in Montevideo, Uruguay, in 1938. He's a film critic, member of the board and co-managing director of Uruguay's Cinematheque, director of the Uruguay International Film Festival, and film professor. He has published several books on cinema. He was a member of the Executive Committee and the Programming Commission of the International Federation of Film Archives (FIAF). He was editor-at-large of Cuadernos de Cine Club and Cinemateca Revista, the Cinematheque's magazine. He has also been Secretary of the Publications Department in the Universidad de la República, and a jury member in many European and Latin American film festivals.

    
Albert Serra - Jury of 23* Mar del Plata International Film Festival  

Albert Serra
He was born in Banyoles, Cataluña, in 1975. A Hispanic Philology and Comparative Literature major from the Universidad of Barcelona, his first feature was Crespià, the Film not the Village (2002). He has written, produced and directed Honour of the Knights (Quixotic) (2006), selected by Cahiers du Cinéma as one of the top ten pictures of 2007. He has also written and directed Bird Song, which was premiered at Cannes 2008 and is now in this Festival's competition. He's currently working on a new film, and writing a play commissioned by the Teatre Lliure of Barcelona.
