Mar del Plata International Cinematographic Festival – From 13 to 23 March, 1963, organized by the Cinematographic Festivals and Argentinean Cinema International Promotion Association.

  • Best Male Performance: Tom Courtenay, for The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner, by Tony Richardson (England)
  • Best Plot: Luís Alcoriza, for Tiburoneros (Mexico)
  • Best Short Film: Rozum Acit  (Czecoslovaquia)
  • Special Award: The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner, by Tony Richardson (England).  For the intelligence and lyricism with which he expresses the conflict between individuals and society within contemporary life.
