Historia del arte
Following a period of denial, Joe Swanberg came back from the ashes reconsidering his own life and his relationship with cinema, including the people who usually accompany him on his adventures, and investigating the visceral nature of these two processes. Gathered in one single location, a small crew is about to shoot a meticulous porn film. But behind every artistic expression there´s always a story. Or several ones. And in this game of Chinese boxes Swanberg himself plays a director clearly interested in his female lead, while she can´t help but embodying her character and point her emotional and physical attention towards her male acting partner. From that point on, the film´s explicit, graphical representation (a warning: this film features live, open, and uncomplicated sex) is contrasted with the urgent need to explain emotions, something that will soon hurt personal relationships. Art History opens new ways in Swanberg´s career, focused on building strongly melancholic atmospheres.
