As part of the regular incentive to the domestic and international film industry, the 33rd Mar del Plata International Film Festival adds a new competitive section.
Altered States, which in previous editions was imposed as a section for the exploration of new narrative forms, will be competitive and will have a cash prize of USD 5,000 for Best Film. This responds to the need to reflect the importance of new languages in world cinema. National and international productions of all genre and length can participate.
As part of the news of this edition, the Work In Progress Competition, WIP, which was born as a stimulus for national productions, extends its call to Latin American productions and awards a cash prize for the Best Project of USD 5,000. In addition, the following prizes will be awarded: Best Feature Film of the Latin American Competition: USD 15,000; Best Feature Film of the Argentine Competition: $ 250,000; Best short film of the Argentine Competition: $ 50,000 and Best Short Film of the Latin American Competition: USD 1,200.
The registration for all categories is available until July 31, 2018 and it is free of charge.
