Domingo Di Núbila Essay Contest

These are the winners

The Mar del Plata International Film Festival has the pleasure to inform the Domingo Di Núbila 2018 selected essays, organized with the support of AsAECA, the Argentine Association of Film Studies and Audiovisual.

 

 

Now in its seventh edition, this contest is presented as a space to think about our cinema and its different narratives. The prize for the winning essay is $ 20,000 in cash and a trip to the Festival. In addition, two special mentions are awarded and essays with merits are selected to be published. All theoretical writings are published on the Festival website and in Imagofagia, the digital magazine of AsAECA.

The jury, composed of Cecilia Nuria Gil Mariño, Paula Jimena Rodríguez Marino and Román Setton, unanimously selected the following winning essays:

 

First Prize

El regreso de Nobleza gaucha: Homero Manzi y la ampliación del paisaje criollista en el cine sonoro, by Nicolás Suárez.

 

 

First Mention

Metamorfosis del pueblo entre Brasil y Argentina: entre Jardim Nova Bahia (1971) y Compañero Cineasta Piquetero (2002), by Victor Ribeiro Guimarães.

 

 

Second Mention

Consumo y percepciones de cine argentino: un estudio empírico entre asistentes a salas de cine de la ciudad de Buenos Aires, by Mariana Aramburu. 

 

Essays selected to be published

 

La dialéctica de la ausencia en los films de Jonathan Perel (en el periodo 2010-2015), by Elizabeth Wendling Larraburu.

 

 

Revalorización del simbolismo en el cine argentino a partir de la obra de Eliseo Subiela, by Aline Almeida Duvoisin.
