Mrs. Géquil is a shy teacher despised by her colleagues and students. On a stormy night, while conducting an experiment in her lab, she is struck by lightning and faints. When she wakes up, she feels decidedly different: she’s the dangerous Mrs. Hyde. On this year when we say farewell to Jerry Lewis, -who also knew how to deform R.L. Stevenson’t classic with The Nutty Professor-, the director of La France delivers his own version, that is also a film about school and the inherent difficulties of passing on knowledge. And so, it is only by becoming another woman that Mrs. Géquil will finally be able to have some effect on her students. The difficulties and hopes of today’s school world serve Bozon for raising the question of how in a real sense the internal changes we go through help us find what we’re looking for, and he does so within a story that is as amusing as it is dynamic and, of course, disturbing
