Application for the Third Young Film Critics and Judges Workshop

The Mar del Plata International Film Festival together with the school of Film Criticism of the Universidad del Cine (FUC) open submissions for the third consecutive year of the Young Film Critics and Judges Workshop to take place fom November 23 to 26, 2020, online.
Application for the Third Young Film Critics and Judges Workshop

This event has been created with the aim of strengthening and motivating the professional development of Iberoamerican critics, through the exercise of writing and exchange about the audiovisual field. Those selected will participate in the Youth Jury that will award the Best First Feature Award in the competition of the 35th edition of the Festival, to take place from November 21 to 29, 2020, online.

The workshop consists of four meetings organized by recognized national and international critics and programmers. The seven participating critics will be accompanied throughout the process of writing their articles and the jury process. They will have to watch, debate, justify in writing, and select the winner of the “Best First Feature Film” Award.

Participants will have the opportunity to interact within the framework of the only Class A Film Festival in Latin American, forming part of a critical film analysis youth jury, with an active and practical perspective. They will also have the opportunity to write articles —to be published in various audiovisual platforms— about the different activities of the Festival, and they will be given Accreditation as Official Judges of the Festival.
