Must-Sees - After the Film: Distribution - Promotion - Exhibition

With the moderation of Fernando E. Juan Lima, President of the Festival, the panel After the film: Distribution - Promotion - Exhibition outlined the new alternatives of a particularly difficult process for independent cinema: the construction and search of an audience for a film, from distribution to exhibition, through press campaigns. Distributor Manuel García, president of CADICINE (Argentine Chamber of Cinematographic Independent Distributors), began the dialogue by commenting on the lack of analysis on the issue: “It is a subject that is not discussed about enough. Although audiovisual consumption has remained stable and has even had peaks in recent years, this consumption has been oriented to less and less content and productions”. Cris Zurutuza, member of the Association of Press Agents of Art and Culture (AAAPAC), spoke about the premieres on digital platforms–a modality that gained notoriety since the beginning of the pandemic–as an opportunity to connect with the media of the inland of the country to which there was no access before: “A resource that we have to conserve so that, when theaters return, something related to that type of premieres is put in place, so that they preserve that federal spirit”.
