Conversations with Masters: Apichatpong Weerasethakul
Within the framework of the Conversations with Masters series, the Thai director Apichatpong Weerasethakul will give a masterclass. The activity will be live online with prior registration necessary.
This is a must-attend event with one of the greatest talents of world cinema. Since the almost extraterrestrial irruption of Mysterious Object at Noon to his consecration with Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives, and along the way an exuberant body of work (like the humid jungle that usually frames his stories) consisting of long and short films, fictions, documentaries, experimental works and even video-installations, Weerasethakul is a telescope that allow us to glimpse a possible horizon for the future of cinema. Not only do we celebrate the participation in the Festival of his most recent film, Memoria, a story plagued with enigmas and mysteries, with Tilda Swinton playing the lead character, but also the possibility of hosting one of his indispensable masterclasses.
Moderated by Cecilia Barrionuevo (artistic director, Mar del Plata Film Festival).
Important: the program will start punctually and will not be recorded; this is a unique event.
The event will take place live on Zoom with prior registration and simultaneous English-Spanish interpretation.
The event can also be viewed in the original language on the Festival’s Youtube channel or live on Facebook with Spanish interpretation.
