Incredible But True
Alain and Marie are a middle-aged couple in search of a home. When the real-estate agent tells them that the most important thing about their new house is the basement, they look at each other, skeptical. But it’s not just any basement—going through its trapdoor means breaking the space-time continuum in a very peculiar way. While Alain doesn’t seem very interested in the matter, to Marie, time jumps become an obsession. But that’s not all—in the latest insanity by Quentin Dupieux there is also a boss with a very original technological secret —so to speak—a cat with mysterious intentions and some other stuff that the audience will discover at the theater. With his usual dry, perplexing humor, Dupieux shapes a comical, absurdist fable about the fear for the passing of time, in which perhaps there aren’t many morals but there certainly is a lot to laugh about.
