Eduardo has fled life in town to plunge into the anonymity of life in a big city and devote himself to his work as a prosecutor. Separated from his wife and with a complicated relationship with his daughter, his present doesn’t seem to be much better than that past he chose to leave behind. And it will get even more complicated once a series of strange murders forces him to go back to his town to help with the investigation carried out by an old friend who’s now become the sheriff in charge of solving the case. Andrea Braga builds a dry, dark police procedural in which what is hidden in the shadows transcends the individual aspects. A tale filled with silences —both complicit and frightened— and corruptions, which kills both the land and its inhabitants. But it is also a story about the courage necessary to assume the consequences of looking at the past in the eye.
