One Year, One Night
Ramón and Céline are a couple present at Paris’ Bataclan the night of the November 13th, 2015 attempts. During the terrorist attack, they both find shelter in the musicians’ dressing room. The experience changes them forever—Ramón suffers from constant panic attacks linked to the trauma, while Céline chooses to remain silent and process the events rationally. The new feature by Isaki Lacuesta, an adaptation of Ramón González’s book Paz, amor y death metal, proposes an approach to different ways of overcoming tragedy, through intense camerawork and editing that seeks to identify the audience with the intimate experiences of the protagonists. One Year, One Night joins Ramón and Céline in their everyday life during the months after the attempt, and this way, resorts to a narrative breakdown in order to explore the couple’s painful wear.
