The story of Juan Carlos Etchepare, a Don Juan with no other job than dividing his time between three women: Nené, a working class girl who is truly in love with him; Mabel, a good girl who is as unfaithful as Juan Carlos himself is; and the widow Di Carlo, frowned upon by society because of rumors that she does not respect her role as a widow. When tuberculosis forces the young man to remain hospitalized for a long time and to distance himself from all of them, a formidable exposition of human relationships and the value of emotional ties over those established by desire begins.

Leopoldo Torre Nilsson (Argentina) was a director, producer and writer with a vast filmography. He is one of the most important and representative directors of Argentine cinema. He directed La tigra (1954), La casa del ángel (1957), La mano en la trampa (1961) and Los siete locos (1973), among many others.
