When Evil Lurks
A man is possessed by a demon in the rural landscape of a lost town, far from the big cities. Two brothers find the man about to give birth to evil and warn the villagers about the horror that is about to burst out. They decide to do away with the possessed man, but the only thing they manage to do is to accelerate the process. The demon is born and begins to leave behind his unmistakable trail of evil. They must flee before the madness and destruction drags them down with it.
Demián Rugna
Demián Rugna (Argentina) is a director, screenwriter, and editor, specializing in horror genre. He directed The Last Gateway (2007) and co-wrote/co-directed Malditos sean! (2013) with Fabián Forte. He gained international recognition with Aterrados (2017). In 2023, Cuando acecha la maldad premiered at TIFF and won Best Film at Sitges.
