Several young men of different social standings have been grouped together: Solari, a typical failed intellectual who must support his wife and the child they are expecting; Soto, who belongs to a large family that is in decline; Circuli, a mentally weak man who doesn't know what to do when he is not ordered around; Ruiz, the elder, strong and possible successor to the boss, with whom he is always in conflict; Ruiz, the younger, who oscillates between his servitude to Berger and his brother; and Gomina, the eldest of them all, attached to his tango and his identity as a porteño of Buenos Aires.
