Yamanaka Sadao ni Sasageru Manga Eiga Nezumikozo Jirokichi
As the city of Edo sinks into darkness, a man comes out of the attic of a house. It is the famous Jirokichi, nicknamed Nezumikozo/the Rat, a virtuous bandit who robs the rich to distribute them to the poor. Orin, a merchant, leads a difficult life with her baby. Taking advantage of this poor woman's plight, some yakuza try to reveal the true identity of Nezumikozo/the Rat. Hating the crime, but not the criminal, Okappiki Kan'emon is a master of detective work, relying on his experience and intuition.
This is a human drama set in the streets of Edo that will move you to tears. Film director Sadao Yamanaka is having such a dream...

Rintarō
Rintarō (Japan) is an animation director. His works include Astro Boy (1963) -the first Japanese animated TV series-, Kimba, the White Lion (1966), Galaxy Express 999 (1979), Harmagedon: Genma Taisen (1983), Metropolis (2001), among others. He has also ventured into 3D animation with the film Yona Yona Penguin (2009).
