After a decade away, Farah returns to Tripoli, Lebanon to care for her aging father Mustapha, finding her city in crisis. Generational differences lead to clashing views on political instability. Seeking connection, Farah joins Mustapha's all-male poetry club, where men share classical Arabic poems over sweets. As Mustapha's health declines and the 2019 revolution erupts, poetry becomes their final means of communication, bridging their divide through verse.
